HC directs state to provide smartphones to 1.30L Anganwadi workers urgently
The Bombay high court has directed the Maharashtra government to provide smartphones to around 1.3 lakh Aanganwadi workers across the state within four months so they can enter beneficiary data on the Centre?s POSHAN tracker app. The app enables real-time monitoring and tracking of all Anganwadi workers, providing a 360-degree view of their activities and complete beneficiary management for pregnant women, lactating mothers, children, adolescent girls and adolescent boys. The government had argued it would take six months to purchase and deliver the devices, but the court called this "entirely unacceptable".

HC upholds Shinde govt’s decision to reverse BMC wards delimitation
The Bombay High Court upheld the decision to reverse the delimitation of wards in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation by the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. The reversal was challenged by former corporators Raju Pednekar and Sameer Desai, but the court dismissed their petitions. The MVA government had increased the number of electoral wards in the BMC from 227 to 236, but the Eknath Shinde government reversed the decision, bringing the number of wards back to 227.

HC strikes down acquisition of 7,670 sq-mtr private plot at Dindoshi for slum scheme
Bombay High Court struck down a 2016 order by the state government to acquire a private plot for a slum rehabilitation scheme, without ascertaining the landowner's interest in redevelopment. Landowner Bharat Patel had objected to the acquisition of his 7,670 square-meter property for the project and said he was willing to develop it himself under the Slums Act. The court accepted Patel's contention that the acquisition process was based on a fraudulently obtained decree from the City Civil Court. The court ruled the subsequent order for compensation also cannot be sustained.
