Market Yard new building construction delay escalates cost to ₹126 crore
The Market Yard flower building development project has been delayed for seven years, with costs increasing from ?54 crore to ?126 crore. Traders and farmers are yet to see a boost from the elected board. The delay is attributed to permissions, past administrative apathy, and opposition from traders. The new complex will accommodate 435 florists, and an APMC official said the construction work will be completed in five to six months. Some traders have demanded a survey before the project takes off and other requests include power meters, long-term space allocation, and canopies.
