SGPC delegation meets Rajoana, slams Centre for delay in mercy plea decision

The SGPC chief accused the Centre of adopting a “biased and discriminatory approach” towards Sikh prisoners.

US President Joe Biden commutes sentences for 37 of 40 federal death row inmates

Notably, there had been no federal inmates put to death in the United States since 2003 until Trump resumed federal executions in July 2020.

Beant case: SC puts on hold its order to President’s secy on Rajoana plea

After the order was passed in the morning, solicitor general Tushar Mehta urged that it should not be given effect as there are “sensitivities” involved in the issue and that it be heard on Friday.
