Delhi adds 1,042 Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths

On Friday, 94 people were admitted to hospitals. This means that 99.03% dedicated Covid-19 beds in hospitals were vacant. Apart from this, 2,173 patients were in home isolation.

Delhi: Masks back in city as Covid cases spike, schools to stay open

Most experts see a direct correlation between the removal of the mask mandate, on April 2, and the increase in cases. On April 2, when the mandate was removed, Delhi was seeing 105 daily cases on average (seven-day average). On Wednesday, when it was reintroduced, the corresponding number was 544.

Schools in Delhi to reopen for offline-only classes from today

Delhi to junk fine for not wearing mask in public

The Capital has had a mask mandate in place since March 23, 2020, two days before the nationwide lockdown to curb the spread of Covid-19 came into effect.

The state has so far imposed a <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>500 fine for not wearing masks in public places across the national capital. Wearing masks in private cars not mandatory in Delhi: DDMA

Other Covid-19 curbs such as night curfew, restrictions on standing passengers in public transport, and 50% seating cap in restaurants and bars will be removed from Monday, the DDMA said in an order on Saturday.
