Over 200 mm of rainfall in last 48 hours, water storage in Pune dams increases

As per the data, Shivajinagar received 37.6 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours till 8.30 am on July 14 whereas Tamhini, Lonavala and Dawdi (Junnar) received over 200 mm of rainfall in the 24 hours from 8.30 am on July 13 to 8.30 am on July 14

Dam breach at China's second-largest freshwater lake, 5700 residents relocated

Footage from state media showed a wave of water surging through a breach in the dike past several overturned lorries, into pools engulfing several houses.

Around 5,700 residents were relocated after waters breached a dike at China's second-largest freshwater lake in the south of the country, while rescue workers rushed to contain further damage from outflows, Chinese state media said on Saturday.(X(formerly Twitter))
