Odisha’s growth rate may fall to 6.16% in 2019-20: Survey

Since 2012-13, Odisha’s GDP has been growing at an average annual rate of 7.5% that enabled the state’s output to grow at a faster pace than the national GDP in the last eight years.

Cyclone Fani: Odisha govt distributes free sanitary napkins in Puri

As part of post-cyclone restoration measures, the Odisha government is distributing free sanitary napkins to all households in Puri district and will continue to do so for the next two months.

Cyclone Fani led to massive loss of poultry in Odisha: Official

Officials in the state fisheries and animal resources development department said at least 4.2 million birds, mostly broiler chickens, were killed, while more than 6000 livestock were killed by Cyclone Fani.

Other poultry farmers in the region are worried that the cyclone may have dealt a deadlier blow than expected, as many of them had borrowed from banks to take up poultry farming.(HT PHOTO)

Cyclone Fani caused 525 crore infrastructure damage, says Odisha government

The death toll in Odisha due to cyclone Fani has touched 64 with Puri recording the maximum number of casualties at 39 according to official estimates released by the Odisha government on Saturday.
