Haryana: At 331, Sonepat’s air quality worst in country

Jind (311) too falls in ‘very poor’ category, mentions Central Pollution Control Board in its Air Quality Index bulletin. The AQI in several other Haryana cities was in the ‘poor’ category.

CPCB to HC: Need four months for report on effluent from STPs in Punjab

The court was on September 30 hearing a plea, filed in January by a Mohali school, claiming that it had been facing serious problems of solid and sewer waste accumulation since 2022, but no remedial steps are being taken.

The Punjab government has been told that amount be deposited within two days with high court and in case of failure, additional sum of <span class='webrupee'>₹</span>1 crore per day be deposited beyond this period.

NGT asks Maha to submit response on fake pollution certificates till Nov

During audits at four plastic-recycling companies in Maharashtra, Gujarat and Karnataka, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) found out that 600,000 fake extended producer responsibility (EPR) certificates had been issued by the companies

As per the NGT order, these EPR certificates are used by companies that utilise plastic packaging to meet legal obligations by ensuring that a percentage of the plastic used by them is recycled. (HT FILE)

Delhi’s air quality improves marginally, dips to ‘very poor’ with 385 AQI

As per the official data recorded on Sunday at 6am by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), 14 out of Delhi’s 40 ambient air quality monitoring stations were in the ‘severe’ category, with Wazirpur (456) worst impacted, followed by Jahangirpuri (450) and Punjabi Bagh (442)
