U-Win portal to track vaccinations may be rolled out in early October

India's U-WIN portal, similar to the Covid-19 vaccine management system Co-WIN, is set to be launched in October. It will document all vaccination and immunisation programmes in the country, including registration, follow-ups, and vaccination certificates. The platform will also be used to register and vaccinate pregnant women and record vaccination details of children.

U-WIN, designed on the lines on the Covid-19 vaccine management system Co-WIN, will be a one stop platform for India’s Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) and all the information related to registration, vaccination follow-ups, vaccination certificates will be available on the portal, officials said, adding that the platform will be used to register and vaccinate pregnant women, and register births and record vaccination details of children. India plans upgrade for digital platform to track vaccinations

India plans to digitize its Universal Immunisation Programme (UIP) with the introduction of the U-WIN platform, which will issue digital vaccination certificates. All 13 vaccinations administered under India's UIP will be documented digitally on U-WIN. The platform will serve as a single point for registration, record-keeping, follow-ups, and issuing certificates. The move follows the success of India's Co-WIN platform, which was used for managing Covid-19 vaccinations and was offered to other countries. U-WIN has already been introduced on a pilot basis in a few districts.
