CHB to give fresh presentation on Sector-53 housing scheme on Jan 17

Earlier, in August 2023, the then administrator Chandigarh Banwarilal Purohit had put the Sector 53 general housing scheme on hold, citing that it was not required at the time. As a result, CHB cancelled the ₹200-crore tenders floated on August 2 for constructing 340 flats on nine acres

A senior Chandigarh administration official stated that on January 17, the presentation will be made to chief secretary-cum-chairman of the board Rajeev Verma. Following this, the chief secretary will discuss the matter with the UT administrator. (HT File)

Chandigarh Housing Board cancels allotment of 29 more small flats

An official said notices have also been sent to the allottees regarding cancellation of allotment due to non-payment of dues; as the allotment of their houses has been cancelled, they have been directed to handover possession of the houses to the Chandigarh Housing Board within next one month

CHB engineer arrested for graft dismissed from service

The accused, Bhuwan Chand, a JE posted in the enforcement wing of CHB, was arrested on November 5 on the complaint of Vikas, a resident of Phase 2, Ram Darbar, and an employee at BEL Factory

In the e-auction, that concluded on Thursday evening, CHB had put on sale 24 residential units on freehold basis and 87 commercial units on leasehold basis
