Shubh Karan died due to shotgun bullet: CFSL to HC

The 21-year-old farm protester Shubh Karan Singh died on February 21 due to bullet injuries and farmers had alleged that he succumbed to injuries caused by firing from the weapons being carried by policemen and other security personnel. As per Haryana, shotguns are not carried by policemen and other security personnel, who were posted at Khanauri and Shambhu border.

2015 Kotkapura police firing: Punjab govt gives nod to prosecute Badals, 6 others

Former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Singh Badal are among eight accused who have been given permission to be prosecuted in the 2015 Kotkapura police firing case. The Punjab home department gave its nod to prosecute the accused under Section 197 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. The FIR was registered on the recommendation of the Justice Ranjit Singh commission report. Two Sikh protesters were killed in the firing at Behbal Kalan during a protest against the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib.

Two years on, trial concludes in Akansh Sen murder case

Two years after the trial started in the infamous Akansh Sen murder case, the last hearing was held on Tuesday. The final order is expected by October 30. During the trial, the counsel of the complainant, advocate Terminder Singh while presenting judgements argued that the medical evidence proved the presence of tyre marks on the deceased’s abdomen thereby supporting the version of eye-witnesses.
