Vaishnaw announces 2 cr for development of villages near Odisha accident site

Vaishnaw stated ₹1 crore had been allotted for the development works of Bahanaga Hospital and another ₹1 crore to develop the village and nearby villages.

Balasore train tragedy death toll rises to 290

According to the officials, Prakash Ram, hailing from Pathra village in Bihar’s Gopalganj district, was travelling back home on the Yeshwantpur-Howrah Express when the general coach he was in derailed and fell into a ditch after being hit by the derailed bogies of the Chennai-bound Coromandel Express.

A train crash near Balasore district in Odisha has resulted in the possible death of over 100 people and injured at least 300. The Chennai-bound Coromandel Express derailed, with several coaches falling onto the adjoining track, before being hit by the Howrah-bound Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express coming from the opposite direction. A goods train was also involved in the crash. Rescue operations are underway, with hundreds of rescuers, doctors and railway officials on the scene.
