Confusion at Anand Vihar amid news of isolation coaches

Railways on Monday announced that 500 railway coaches converted into isolation wards would be deployed in Delhi—of which around 180 would be stationed at Anand Vihar. Earlier, the Railways had deployed 50 coaches at the Shakur Basti Railway Station (which are unused so far).

Two dead, two injured as auto crashes into truck on Delhi-Meerut expressway

Police identified the two men who died as Saurabh (police have shared his first name only), and the 28-year-old auto driver, Gulshan Kumar. Saurabh’s wife, Shefali, and daughter, Ayana, were injured and are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in east Delhi’s Patparganj.

Policeman found hanging at home, second such incident within 12 hours

Police said that the wife of the 40-year-old head constable called the police control room and informed that her husband had locked himself in the room and that he was not responding despite her repeated knocks.

Driver, conductor of private bus in Delhi held for allegedly robbing passengers

The complainants alleged that as the bus reached the Yaumna bridge near Sarai Kale Khan, the conductor locked the doors, took out a stick and threatened to assault the passengers if they refused to hand over their money.

Delhi Police seize fake 2,000 fake notes with face value of 10 lakh

Police said the seized notes were in the denomination of ₹2,000 and were printed in Bangladesh. Police said this is the biggest catch of fake ₹2,000 banknotes in Delhi since demonetisation on November 8, 2016.

Travelling to attend mother’s funeral, man robbed by auto driver in Delhi

The auto rickshaw driver, who had given lift to three other men on way to Anand Vihar railway station, stopped the auto en route and all four robbed the victim the moment he got off.
