Apart from this, Indigo and Go Air have cancelled seven flights, including those to Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad and Hyderabad, operating from Chandigarh Airport till March 30.

6 months on, solar panels at Chandigarh railway station still not functional
To reduce dependency on conventional sources of energy, Northern Railway’s Ambala Division had installed solar panels at Chandigarh railway station. However, six months on, the panels are still not functional. According to a source in the railways, “Solar panels of 390 kW were to be installed all over the station, with about 190 kW for station and the rest for other buildings such as sick line, workshop, etc.

Loco pilot hurt after man hurls stone at moving train in Ludhiana
A senior assistant loco pilot suffered a severe injury on his face after a miscreant pelted a stone at a running train near the Sidhwan Bridge on the Dhuri railway line here on Sunday evening. The Railway Protection Force (RPF), Ambala division, has registered a case under Section 153 (endangering safety of persons travelling by railway by wilful act or omission) of the Railway Act against an unidentified person.

Rachna Verma162 passengers penalised in Chandigarh for travelling without train ticket
The Ambala division of the Northern Railways has penalised 162 passengers for travelling without ticket and 121 passengers for travelling using wrong tickets at the Chandigarh railway station. As many as 283 people were penalised in just one day. People were penalised during the routine ticket checking drive on Saturday.
