Two Mohali girls make it to Air Force Academy

Cadet Charanpreet Kaur is the daughter of Harminder Singh Banwait, who is a driver in a private company, and she hails from Kurali. Cadet Mahak is the daughter of Anil Kumar Dahiya, a government teacher, a resident of Mohali.

Six booked for air force student's death in Bengaluru; family suspects foul play

IAF chief BS Dhanoa gifts his ‘wings’ to new flying officer

Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa was the Reviewing Officer for the Combined Graduation Parade at the Air Force Academy located in Telangana. With Flying Officer Reddy, 151 cadets were awarded the President’s Commission.

Flying Officer Reddy is a second generation soldier. His father Subedar G Pulla Reddy, is from the Signals Regiment of the Indian Army and is currently serving.(IAF)

Varthamans a MiG-21 family: Son flies it, dad flew it

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman downed a Pakistani F-16 plane before his MiG-21 Bison was hit during a dogfight.His father Air Marshal (retd) Simhakutty Varthaman also flew the MiG-21s and was an IAF test pilot, who retired five years ago, a family friend said here Friday.
