IRCTC offers visit from Chandigarh to south, 5 Jyotirlinga temples this summer

With the summer vacations approaching closer and long distance trains mostly booked, the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has come up with two economical and religious tours at approximately a cost of 800 per day per person.

The first IRCTC package - Dakshin Bharat Darshan scheduled for May 27 will cover destinations including Reningunta and Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh and Kanchipuram, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu.

The Dakshin Bharat Yatra train will depart from Chandigarh railway station on May 27 at 12:20am.

The 12 day and 11 night package of 9,900 will include facilities such as journey by second sleeper class, accommodation in non-AC dormitories/hall, vegetarian food (breakfast, lunch and dinner), tour escort and security on train and tourist buses for visiting tourist spots. The total tour package breaks down to 825 per day per person.

Five Jyotirlinga darshan at 8300

Another package named ‘Five Jyotirlinga Darshan’ scheduled for June 17 is a 10 day and 9 night package costing 830 per person per day and a total of 8300.

Under the package, the devotees can visit Mahakaleshwara Jyotirlinga in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh; Nageshwara Jyotirlinga in Dwarka, Somnath Jyotirlinga in Veraval,Saurashtra in Gujrat; Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga in Aurangabad and TriambkeshwarJyotirlinga in Nashik, Maharashtra.

The train that goes via Jaipur will depart at 12:20 am from the Chandigarh Railway station on June 17.

IRCTC regional office spokesperson Shubham Arya said, “In Dakshin Bharat Darshan tourist train, we have 800 seats, bookings of which have begun and we are receiving a good response.”

The official added that in all the Bharat Darshan trains and the Jyotirlinga train will have a total of 11 coaches.

Bookings for the Bharat Darshan special tourist train is available online on the official website of IRCTC and also at the zonal office in Sector 34. They can also contact the zonal office at 0172-4645795.
