The Bund Garden police have booked a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator for assaulting a doctor at the district hospital early Wednesday.

According to the police, the corporator, identified as Arti Kondhre, is on the run. The complaint was lodged by Dr Snehal Khandagale, 26, employed with Sassoon General hospital.
When asked about the impending arrest, AM Patil, assistant police inspector of Bund Garden police station, investigating the case said, “We are looking for the corporator. Her house and office were found locked. Her husband is also untraceable.”
“We believe it was the corporator’s son who was admitted after he met with an accident. We are yet to speak to the hospital authorities and the accused to verify details,” said Patil.
According to the complaint, Dr Khandagale was on night shift at the hospital’s emergency room when three accident victims were brought in. Kondhre walked in the emergency room and demanded that the doctors pay attention to her son. The doctor submitted in her complaint that she told the corporator that preliminary care had been provided. However, Kondhre started filming the doctor on her mobile .
Dr Khandagale put her palm in front of the mobile camera in an attempt to prevent the corporator from filming, stating that it is against the hospital’s policy. The corporator hit the doctor when the latter blocked the camera, according to the complaint.
