Residents of Paras Tierea highrise society in Noida’s Sector 137 on Sunday protested against the builder

Residents of Paras Tierea highrise society in Sector 137 on Sunday protested against the builder alleging poor quality of construction, high maintenance charge and lack of security in the locality. The builder, however, said that only a group of residents, who are aspiring to be the RWA president, are protesting.

“The building does not have adequate power backup. The diesel generators provide a fluctuating supply that leads to disruption in lift service. Also, many home appliances have been affected due to poor quality of power supply. We have, time and again, asked them (builder) to provide adequate power backup but the request has fallen on deaf ears,” Satnam Singh Maan, a resident of Paras Tierea, said.

A number of residents gathered at the gate of the society around 11am with placards and shouted slogans against the builder. They also demanded proper maintenance of their basement as they are unable to park their cars.

“It has been two years since we moved in but the builder has not cleaned the basements for parking of cars. Also, the club house and security are yet to be handed over. There is a major problem of seepage that the builder always ignores,” Rajan Sood, a resident of the society, said.

Due to a technical glitch, power supply to the Paras Tierea is disrupted and the entire society, which contains 18 towers, is running on backup for a week.

“Employees of the builder are rude. Two days ago, when we wanted to check when the power would be resumed, few drunk employees misbehaved with us. A complaint against them was registered at the local police station,”said Maan.

The builder said that they have also filed a complaint against residents for manhandling their employees.

“There is a certain group of residents, which is creating problems and they have also manhandled our employees. We have cooperated with the residents for each problem. The common area maintenance (CAM) charges are deducted from the prepaid metres in each society. We are not overcharging them,” Rajesh Kaul, a spokesperson for Paras Buildtech, said.

The builder said that private security guards, CCTV cameras and all other facilities are provided to residents in lieu of the maintenance charges.

“We don’t want to give a bad impression to homebuyers. We are in this business for long and we care for our customers. There are certain people who are trying to become the RWA president by tarnishing our image,” Kaul said.
