Party president Ranjit Singh Brahmpura appointed Bubby, who along with his supporters joined the SAD (Taksali) in Chandigarh, as the faction’s state youth unit chief.
Also, a party delegation led by Brahmpura met Punjab chief electoral officer S Karuna Raju and demanded stern action against SAD candidate from Khadoor Sahib Bibi Jagir Kaur for distributing liquor in a rally at Dera Sahib village on Wednesday. On the basis of complaint, Raju sought a report from the field staff and assured action against the guilty.
Senior vice-presidents Rattan Singh Ajnala and Bir Devinder Singh, secretary general Sewa Singh Sekhwan, former MLAs Ujjagar Singh Badali and Ravinder Singh Brahmpura were present on the occasion.
Brahmpura said he has no relation with Gurinder Singh Tony who on Wednesday joined the Shiromani Akali Dal. Tony was projected as Brahmpura’s nephew. “He’s from my village but we are not related,” he said.
