Mahayana New Year 2024: The festive time of the year is here. Every year, Mahayana New Year is celebrated with a whole lot of pomp and grandeur by the Buddhist community all over the world. Mahayana – one of the branches of Buddhism is mainly practiced in Northeast Asia. Tibet, Taiwan, Mongolia, China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Mahayana Buddhism is practiced with customs and traditions unique to the regions. Mahayana literally translates to a great vehicle. Maha means great and yana means vehicle.
