Mocking BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for promising to curb corruption if he was made the country’s ‘watchman’, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi said, “Watchmen also steal and if there is only one watchman then major theft will occur. I want several watchmen for my country and not a single person.”

Lashing out at Modi’s Gujarat model once again, Rahul while addressing a rally here on Monday said, “Gujarat did not have an RTI commissioner till December 2013, but after court directives, a commissioner has been appointed. Earlier, corruption remained behind closed doors in Gujarat, but we brought out the same before you.”

Trying to woo the youth, Rahul, announced that the Delhi-Kolkata business corridor which was established by UPA would soon be linked to Allahabad providing employment to lakhs of youths, who till now had to migrate to other parts of the country for earning their livelihood.

“Modi says nothing was done in the past 60 years. He is denying your hard work as he thinks that power lies with him and not with the public. Even US president Barack Obama fears two countries, China and India,” he said.
