“BJP leaders, including LK Advani, have forsaken the ideology on which BJP was formed and they have lost the confidence of party workers. BJP flag and lotus symbol belongs to me since I am committed to the saffron ideology”, she said.

Riding on the success of the ‘Ram Roti Yatra’, Uma announced that she would launch another yatra -- Janadesh Yatra -- on February 6 from the holy town of Vindhyachal, in Mirzapur district. This yatra will continue for 90 days and pass through Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattishgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam and some Southern states.

“The ‘Janadesh Yatra’ will conclude at Chitrakoot. After seeking mandate from people on ‘ideology’ I will decide my future political strategy”, Uma said.

“Though technically I am not in BJP, but ideologically I very much belong to it. I have not given up the ideology on which BJP was formed. I have faith in ideology of RSS leader Guru Golwalkar. It’s for the people and workers to decide who will remain in BJP,” she said.

Flaying former BJP president LK Advani, Uma said “statements of Advani on Jinnah and that LOC would become permanent border clearly shows that he has put BJP ideology on the backburner to serve his vested interests. When Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister he gave up ‘swadeshi’ and pursued the Congress economic policy of globalisation and liberalization”, she said.

Reiterating her commitment for Ram temple at Ayodhya, Uma said she was ready to talk with any leader, including Mulayam Singh Yadav, VP Singh, Chandrashekhar and the Congress and other political parties for the construction of the temple. “The support of these leaders will lead to peaceful solution of the temple issue and strengthen the bond between Hindus and Muslims”, she said.

Meanwhile, on auspicious occasion of ‘Makar Sankranti’ thousands of devotees gathered on the banks of river Saryu to take holy dip. Uma, along with hundreds of her supporters, arrived at the spot where the frontrunner of Ram Madir movement Mahanth Ramchandra Paramhans was cremated. She offered floral tributes on his samadhi and read out her sankalp (vow) before the masses.

She said her political ideology will revolve around swabhiman (self respect), suraksha (security), swadeshi (nationalism), suchita (transparency) and suraj (good governance).  “These five principles will form the basics of my political ideology”. She said swabhiman includes Ram, Roti and Hindutava; suraksha includes security, integrity and fight against terrorism; swadeshi meant safeguarding the economic interests of the country and establishing supremacy of the country in international market; suchita meant transparency in political activities and ending the nexus between politicians and criminals and suraj was participation of the people in the governance, empowering the deprived and women.
