The protest took place at the Aditya Urban Casa society premises and saw residents complaining about various civic issues there. The society has nearly 700 flats with an occupancy of 600 families.

Nearly 100 residents of a high-rise in Sector 78 gathered on Sunday to protest against the builder after he allegedly put a cap of 1,000 on the recharge of prepaid electricity meters.

The protest took place at the Aditya Urban Casa society premises and saw residents complaining about various civic issues there. The society has nearly 700 flats with an occupancy of 600 families.

“From April 1, the builder has put a cap on the recharge of our prepaid electricity meters. A recharge greater than 1,000 is no longer an option, which is very inconvenient. We have to get a fresh recharge every few days as the consumption of electricity has increased due to hot weather,” Vivek Tiwari, secretary, apartment owners’ association (AOA), said.

Residents claimed that this was the builder’s way of pressurising the AOA into taking over the handover of the society.
