The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) will organise ‘Adhikaron Ka mela’ on June 6. Both government departments as well as private companies will take part in the event. At the event, government agencies will resolve citizens’ complaints on the spot, between 7.30am to 1pm.

The event will be held at Tau Devi Lal stadium and issues pertaining to residents’ welfare associations, Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda), police, MCG and other departments will be taken up and resolved in context of the rights of the citizens . Private companies will also participate in the festival and offer jobs to persons registered with the employment exchange.
Ravi Kumar Sondhi, district and sessions judge, Gurugram, said that this festival aims to resolve the issues of workers, labourers and residents of private colonies and ensure that their rights, which are enshrined in the Constitution, are upheld.
“A number of stalls will be set up by different departments, including labour, Huda, transport, police, traffic and municipal corporation and others to look into issues and problems raised by people and resolve them on the spot,” Sodhi said.
Students, above the age of 16 years, would be able to get learners’ driving licence from the spot if they carry their photo and identification papers. A medical camp is also being organised where the medical examination of the applicants would be conducted.
“The festival is inspired by Justice Ranjan Gogoi, who was my senior and impressed upon me that rights of the citizens are paramount and the services entitled to them should be delivered on time,” Sodhi said.
