Dhubri is one of the 126 Assam Legislative Assembly Constituencies that comes under the Dhubri district. People of Dhubri voted for Assam Assembly Election 2021 on April 6 and the result was declared on May 2.
In 2016, the Dhubri assembly seat had 1,72,563 registered voters. Of the, 89,545 were male and 83,018 were female voters. 0.6% of votes were casted for NOTA.
In the Assam Legislative Assembly Election 2016, Dhubri constituency had 10 candidates for assembly seat contention. Dhubri was one of 13 seats won by the Independent. All India United Democratic Front's Najrul Hoque won the election by upstaging independent candidate Nazibul Umar by a margin of 24,086 votes.
The top three candidates split 87.1% of votes between them. All India United Democratic Front's Najrul Hoque got a total of 60,933 votes, while independent candidate Nazibul Umar secured 36,847 votes. Bharatiya Janta Party's candidate Dr. Debamoy Sanyal grabbed the third spot with 33,648 votes. The top three parties got 40.4%, 24.4% and 22.3% respectively.
In Assam Assembly election 2011, All India United Democratic Front's Jahan Uddin outperformed Indian National Congress's Nazibul Umar by 7,482 votes.
