DDA housing scheme 2017: Here is how you can apply for a flat in Delhi

If you want to do it offline, you can buy the brochure/application form from the DDA sale counter, Vikas Sadan, New Delhi or from any of the eight banks with which the DDA has tied up. The banks where you can buy the forms are: State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, IDBI, Axis bank, ICICI, HDFC, Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank.
You need to submit the form, along with a banker’s cheque or demand draft (DD) for the registration fee favouring ‘DDA HOUSING’ payable at Delhi.
The cost of the brochure is Rs 200. If you download it online, you will have to pay the amount at the time of submission. All online payments are to be made through net banking.
What is the cost of registration?
For the LIG (Lower Income Group) category, the registration fee is Rs 1,00,000 while for Middle Income Group and High Income Group flats it is Rs 2,00,000 will be charged. If your name does not appear in the draw of lots, the registration fees will be refunded. If you hit the jackpot, you will be required to pay the remaining amount of the cost of the house.
Unlike last time when banks financed the registration fee for applicants by charging them a minimum sum (about Rs 5,000), there no such provision this time. However, finance from banks will be available to people on a personal loan basis.
The cost of the flats is between Rs 53.52 lakh and 1.26 crore, for MIG flats between Rs 31.32 lakh and 93.95 lakh, LIG flats between Rs 14.50 lakh and 30.30 lakh and Janta flats between Rs 7.07 lakh and 12.76 lakh.
Who is eligible?
Any Indian citizen, 18 years of age and above, can apply. However, you are not eligible to apply if you already own a flat or plot in your or your spouse/child’s name in Delhi.
What is the last date to apply?
You can submit the forms by August 11 at DDA’s office at Vikas Sadan or any of the bank branches. If you plan to apply online you can either submit the form through net banking with any of these select eight banks or you can submit it at the DDA’s website. In either of the cases the payment will have to be made through net banking.
Do I need an ID proof?
All you need is a self attested photocopy of your PAN card and proof of residence. You do not have to be resident of Delhi to apply.
When is the draw of lots? When can I get possession?
The draw of lots will be in the first week of November. The refund of money to unsuccessful applicants will be made within 30 days after the date of draw. Those who are successful will get the possession of flats in the last week of November to December.
If I am applying, can my husband/wife also apply?
Yes, both of you can apply separately. However, if both of you are allotted flats, only one can be retained.
What if I wish to withdraw from the scheme. Will DDA return my registration money?
If an applicant wishes to withdraw from the date of draw but before issue of allotment letter, 25% of application money will be forfeited. From the date of issue of allotment letter till 90 days, 50% will be forfeited.
From Day 91 to 180 of issue of allotment letter, Complete registration money will be forfeited.
Can I sell these flats later?
There will be no restriction on when people can sell these flats, the DDA said refuting reports that a five-year sale embargo may be included in the deals.
Where are the flats located?
The flats are located in Vasant Kunj, Sukhdev Vihar, Rohini, Dwarka, Narela, Jasola Vihar, Pitampura, Paschim Vihar and Jahangirpuri.
