India vs Australia Highlights, 2nd Test, Day 2: AUS lead by 62 runs as Head, Labuschagne get visitors off to quick start

Nathan Lyon is inflicting some damage here. He picks his third wicket of the day as Cheteshwar Pujara is trapped LBW for 0. The umpire was not very interested but Cummins opted for a review. TV replay confirmed it was pad first and then bat and the ball was hitting the stumps. IND: 55/3

Nathan Lyon provides Australia with another blow. This time he beats Rohit Sharma in his defence, as the ball passes between the pads and the bat before knocking the stumps. The Indian skipper departs for 32. 

Local lad Virat Kohli walks in and joins Pujara in the middle. IND: 53/2

A powerful shot by Rohit. Goes down on his knees against Kuhnemann and connects it well to send the ball for a boundary towards the mid-wicket region. IND: 53/1

Pujara, who is playing his 100th Test, gets lucky in his first ball as their is a huge LBW appeal against the batter. Australia huddle, think for a while, but doesn't opt for the review. TV replay confirms that would have been out.

Poor captaincy by Cummins, he lost two reviews earlier, this time when he could have taken one, decides not to. IND: 46/1

Nathan Lyon is introduced into the attack and he starts off with a two-run over. IND: 45/0 

A brilliant bowl by Cummins, which angles back at Rahul. The ball is then caught at slips. Both LBW and caught in play as Australia go for another review. TV replay confirms there was no bat involved and the ball was bouncing over the stumps. 

Two runs come from the over. IND: 43/0

Kuhnemann with a huge LBW appeal against Rahul. The umpire isn't interested, but Cummins opts for a review. TV replay show the ball was pitched on the line, but it was missing the leg stumps. Australia lose their review.

Rahul then hits the spinner for a six in the next ball. IND: 41/0

Easy pickings for Rohit Sharma as he picks five runs from the over bowled by Cummins. IND: 33/0

Rohit tries to sneak in a quick single after nudging the ball towards mid-on. Cummins was quick at the ball, but his throw is not effective enough. It would have been time, if he would have struck the stumps. 

Five runs come from the over by Kuhnemann. IND: 28/0

Pat Cummins will lead the attack with Kuhnemann. Meanwhile, KL Rahul punches the ball square off the wicket and gets a single. First run for India on the board on Day 2. 

Rohit, on the other hand, also does the same in the final ball of the over. IND: 23/0 

Kuhnemann starts with a maiden over. Good start for Australia. IND: 21/0

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul walk-in to kick-off the proceedings on Day 2. India will resume the innings from 21/0 and are trailing by 242 runs. 

Australia will start with spin as Matthew Kuhnemann leads the attack. 

Carrom-ball specialist R Ashwin completed yet another milestone on Day 1 of the ongoing Test. He became the second bowler after Anil Kumble to scalp 100 wickets against Australia. Kumble had scalped 111 wickets in 20 Test matches. 

Australia's Nathan Lyon stands next on the list with 95 wickets. He can join the list today, all he need is a five-wicket haul.

The action will resume at 09:30 am. Saturday morning, so we can expect a good crowd in the stadium. The weather at the moment remains partly cloudy, but it is expected to get better as the day proceeds.

David Warner was struck by a bouncer by Mohammed Siraj on Day 1. Warner was dismissed for 15. However, he didn't take the field after Australia were bowled out for 263.

Australia opener David Warner has been ruled out of the ongoing Test and will be replaced by Matt Renshaw as his concussion substitute.

Australia have fielded a very inexperienced bowling attack with spinner Matthew Kuhnemann making his debut, while Todd Murphy is playing his second game. 

Murphy, however, had a good outing in Nagpur, where he picked seven wickets.

India captain Rohit Sharma was given out by umpire towards the closing stages of the play. However, the skipper was confident, there was no bat or gloves involved and went for the DRS straightaway. 

TV replay ensured Rohit remains at the crease.

Virat Kohli is in red hot form in white-ball cricket, however, he has failed to replicate the same in red-ball format. The former India captain has not notched a single half-century in his previous 10 innings, played in the sub-continent and managed just 174 runs. 

However, with this being his big homecoming, Kohli will surely look to pile some big numbers here.

KL Rahul failed to do much in the first Test in Nagpur and will hope to get some big numbers this time around. His inclusion has seen in-form batter Shubman Gill being rested, which has not gone well both with the fans and a few experts.

Rohit Sharma heads into the encounter on the back of a powerful 120 in Nagpur Test. The skipper is currently batting on 13 and both fans and Rohit will hope to notch a second ton in as many matches.

Australia have fielded just one pacer in the form of their skipper Pat Cummins, and have mostly relied on their spinners. Now with Shami emerging as India's leading wicket-taker, it'll be interesting to see how Cummins uses himself.

Australia won the toss and opted to bat. Despite the steady start, the tourists could only manage 263 runs on the board. Three Australian batters Steve Smith, Alex Carey, and Todd Murphy were dismissed for 0. 

In a track, which was expected to assist the spinners, Mohammed Shami emerged as the highest wicket-taker from the Indian camp, scalping four wickets, while Ashwin and Jadeja picked three wickets each.

After suffering an embarrassing defeat at the hands of hosts India in the series opener, Pat Cummins and Co. will hope to bounce back by winning the 2nd Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. Can Cummins and Co. spoil Virat Kohli's homecoming?
