Shilpa Shetty dances with Govinda after 20 years, says she had no idea how she would ‘match steps with him’
Shilpa Shetty and Govinda danced together after nearly 20 years on an episode of Super Dancer 3.
Actors Shilpa Shetty and Govinda came together for an episode of Super Dancer 3 on Saturday on the occasion of Holi. The two actors danced together to hit songs and came together after a gap of 20 years, according to a report in Times Now.
The two have worked together in five films including Aag, Hathkadi, Gambler, Chhote Sarkar and Pardesi Babu. Speaking about matching steps with his on stage, Shilpa said: “I was dancing bravely on the stage, but from within my heart was pounding. We danced together after almost 20 years on this song. My legs and hands are still shivering. I had no idea how I was going to match steps with him. I have worked with a lot of actors and I have worked with Chi Chi as well but the energy he brings with him makes me scared.”

Explaining further, Shilpa said that Govinda would come and dance easily in his typical style while she would practice her steps vigorously. Despite that, nobody looked at her. However, she got to learn a lot from him. She added that he had once given her a great advice: to always dance with one’s face. That was something she follows to this day. She said that if she is considered a good dancer today, the credit for it goes to him.
The show, which is judged by director Anurag Basu, choreographer Geeta Kapoor and Shilpa, saw Shakti Kapoor participate in the new episode as well. Not just Govinda, Shakti too danced to some songs and amused the audience with his dancing skills, or lack thereof.
Shilpa was last seen on the big screen in 2007’s Life in a... Metro but did cameos in films like Dostana, Om Shanti Om and Apne. However, the actor is quite active on Instagram and routinely posts pictures from her personal life.
Known to be a fitness enthusiast, she is also in the process of launching her own health app. “It’s so important for everyone to know that nutrition plays such an important part in maintaining good health. I feel that is something most people don’t understand. People think that it’s just about working out. I keep emphasizing that it is 70 percent nutrition and 30 percent workout regime. I am going to come with my health app in a couple months,” she told IANS.
