Dinesh Vijan’s Shiddat confirmed; to star Diana Penty, Mohit Raina, Radhika Madan and Sunny Kaushal

Producer Dinesh Vijan of Stree and Luka Chuppi fame has confirmed his next big project, a multi-starrer titled Shiddat. The film will star Diana Penty, Mohit Raina, Radhika Madan and Sunny Kaushal. It will go on the floors in September and is scheduled to release mid-2020.

The film will reportedly have two parallel tracks focussing on the journey of two couples. While Radhika will star opposite Sunny, Diana will pair up with Mohit in the film. Shiddat has been written by Shridhar Raghavan and Dheeraj Rattan. Dheeraj has also written the dialogues for the film. It will be directed by Kunal Deshmukh of Jannat fame.

Sunny’s father and stunt director Sham Kaushal took to Twitter to share his happiness on the announcement of the film. “God is so kind. Today, it is Vicky Kaushal’s Birthday & announcement for Sunny Kaushal’s new film #Shiddat Feeling so blessed & humbled. May God bless all.” he tweeted.

Dinesh said in a statement, “In our day and age where love is taken so lightly, it’s difficult to imagine the lengths people would go to for it. ‘Shiddat’ is a not only a story about love but the distance one travels for it. The passion that overcomes maybe all senses or logic to do things that you wouldn’t usually imagine, the belief in something with all your heart and the drive to achieve it - that’s Shiddat.”

It is to be noted, Karan Johar’s recent release Kalank was shot with the working title, Shiddat. Dinesh had earlier told BollywoodHungama in an interview, “The title was with Karan Johar and he was kind enough to give it. The word Shiddat captures the true essence of the film and it’s a perfect title for it.”
