Manufacturers,packaging units of food items flouting laws
Manufacturers of food items here seem to have no fear of law as packaging of home-made snacks and other products is being done without any mention of expiry and manufacturing details. Most shops and bakeries are selling items like chips, cakes, pastries etc in packets which don't mention manufacturing date, expiry date, the manufacturer's address etc.

Bhagwant Mann skips party meet at Mansa
Aam Admi Party (AAP) MP Bhagwant Mann skipped the party meeting in Mansa which was presided over by Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who has been recently been elected state convener and visited the region to hold a meeting with all the district representatives of the party. 2 farmers commit suicide after floods mars crops in Mansa
Gurjeet Singh, 32, a farmer of Musa village in Mansa district, who owned nearly 4 acres of land which was being used for cultivation of cotton, committed suicide on Monday evening. He was one of the three brothers. All the brothers were engaged in farming.

Rape victim refuses to take medical test
The 33-year-old nurse, who alleged that she was gangraped by four men of Hasanpur village in Mansa, has refused to undergo medical test to ascertain her claims. The police, meanwhile, have taken two of the four accused, Balwinder Kala and Lakwinder Singh, on remand for two days.

Heavy rain leads to closure of power plant at Talwandi Sabo
The first heavy downpour, on Tuesday, led to the closure of the Vedanta power plant at Banawali village in Talwandi Sabo as water entered the underground premises of the plant where coal is stored. The total power generation capacity of the plant is 660 mega watt.
