Decided to marry after entering politics, says CM

To criticize him, Chouhan’s political opponents often allude to the story that he turned his back on a ‘lifelong bachelor’ resolution made on the banks of Narmada. “When I became an MLA and entered politics, I thought I should get married as we get support from family (in politics),” Chouhan told HT.

‘SIMI men were a threat to nation’: Madhya Pradesh RSS leader

The RSS on Wednesday praised the Madhya Pradesh police that killed eight suspected SIMI members on Monday and said they “had no other option but to kill the fugitives” amid the growing opposition clamour for a judicial probe into the encounter.

The encounter killing of the SIMI operatives has turned into a tug of war with chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan accusing opposition leaders, who have questioned the authenticity of the encounter, of doing “petty politics”.(PTI)

MP police demand ‘better food’ than jail inmates

Policemen and women from the constable level to that of inspector, who work 15 to 18 hours a day while on special duty, are entitled to spend Rs 60 per head on food, while an inmate in the state’s jail gets daily food of the value of Rs 70 per head, according to a top police official.

The state administration gives a police personnel 10 rupees less than it spends on a prisoner, the civil force revealed to the CM, suggesting ways to boost the spirit of the staff in khaki.(AFP)
