Time for Badals to fade out, new sunrise awaits Punjab: Navjot Sidhu
From the airport, Sidhu headed towards his residence where he took feedback from party workers.
On the eve of Punjab assembly election results, Congress candidate from Amritsar East and party’s star campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu said that “it’s time for the Badals to fade away as new sunrise awaits the state”, pointing towards dark clouds in the sky as he landed at the Sree Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport on Friday.
When questioned on exit polls, the cricketer-turned-politician said: “Janta ka faisla hai, aap jaan jaoge kal (you will know the people’s mandate tomorrow).”
From the airport, Sidhu headed towards his residence where he took feedback from party workers.
Sidhu is likely to get an important role if the Congress forms the government in the state. The three-time former MP left the BJP after issues with the Shiromani Akali Dal and joined the Congress just before the elections. Keeping everyone guessing, Sidhu was given party ticket from Amritsar East, the constituency which was earlier represented by his wife Dr Navjot Kaur Sidhu.
