Top USC Recruit Alijah Arenas, son of ex-NBA guard Gilbert Arenas, is currently in a medically induced coma following a car crash.
Alijah Arenas, a promising star USC commit, has met with a serious car accident, and has been placed into a medically induced coma, according to a report by ESPN.

What is a medically induced coma?
A medically-induced coma is a controlled process done at hospitals for better and effective treatment of patients. It is a useful form of 'medical tool', that is used to achieve a deep state of brain inactivity, according to the GNRC Hospitals' official website.
The process is completely reversible and drug-powered. Once the effect of the drug wears off, or necessary medical activities are conducted, the patient will be back into consciousness.
As per GNRC Hospitals' site, some of the typical and common reasons for medically induced coma include:
- In cases of traumatic brain injury with swelling and any kind of increase in intra-cranial pressure.

What happened to Alijah Arenas?
Alijah Arenas was driving his Tesla Cybertruck through the Reseda area of the San Fernando Valley when he met with a serious accident. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, police officials responded shortly before 5 am to the scene where the Cybertruck had crashed into a tree.
Reports suggest that Arenas was then taken to the hospital in stable condition, where he was then put into a medically induced coma by doctors. Meanwhile, wishes poured in from all across. Alijah's mother, Laura Govan, took to social media asking for prayers for her son while his father and ex-NBA guard Gilbert Arenas canceled his online talk show that was scheduled for Thursday.
