Pam Bondi releases statement -

Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a statement accompanying the release, saying that the documents made public on Thursday largely consist of files previously available through leaks but never formally released.

“This Department of Justice is following through on President Trump’s commitment to transparency and lifting the veil on the disgusting actions of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators,” Bondi said in the release. “The first phase of files released today sheds light on Epstein’s extensive network and begins to provide the public with long overdue accountability.”

Kash Patel issues statement -

FBI Director Kash Patel also issued a statement, emphasizing a shift in the agency’s approach.

“The FBI is entering a new era—one that will be defined by integrity, accountability, and the unwavering pursuit of justice,” he said. “There will be no cover-ups, no missing documents, and no stone left unturned — and anyone from the prior or current Bureau who undermines this will be swiftly pursued. If there are gaps, we will find them. If records have been hidden, we will uncover them. And we will bring everything we find to the DOJ to be fully assessed and transparently disseminated to the American people as it should be. The oath we take is to the Constitution, and under my leadership, that promise will be upheld without compromise.”

Who was Jeffrey Epstein?

Jeffrey Epstein, a wealthy American financier, was accused of sexually abusing many minors for over ten years. He was arrested in July 2019 for sex trafficking and related charges. He took his own life in a Manhattan jail cell that year before his trial. Epstein was connected to many well-known individuals, including former presidents and billionaires. In January 2024, court records linked to him were made public in a lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre, one of his victims.
