Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is all set to inaugurate naval base INS Jatayu in Lakshadweep next month. The military infra in far-off Lakshadweep comes amid strained ties with Maldives. INS Jatayu is located in the Minicoy Islands in Lakshadweep, just over 500 km away from Maldives. The news of military push in Lakshadweep comes in wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the union territory which created ripples in neighbouring Maldives. \
