Blinken's tough message to China: Meets Dalai Lama's aide amid succession buzz

In a move that is set to anger China, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held talks with a representative of Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, during a meeting with representatives of civil society organisations in Delhi on Wednesday. The top US diplomat is on his maiden two-day official visit to India. The meeting assumes signifance as there is strong buzz around the succession of Dalai Lama. There are reports that China is interfering in the succession of the Tibetan spiritual leader. Last week, Chinese president Xi Jinping made a surprise visit to Tibet.
