Kerala continues to show high number of Covid-19 cases in India while the second wave is abating in the country. In fact, Kerala is reporting 50% of the cases in India. A recent serosurvey conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) revealed that people in the state are not exposed to the virus and hence are still getting infected. Kerala’s test per million is higher than most states. High level of testing and narrow gap between the positivity rate and rate of exposure could be the reason why Kerala is seeing a surge in cases.
