US President Donald Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met in Washington and vowed to strengthen ties further. Trump emphasised efforts to “ eliminate cross-border terrorism” and also gave his approval for the extradition of Pakistani-origin Chicago businessman Tahawwur Rana in connection with the 2008 Mumbai attacks. Both Modi and Trump agreed to restore the US “ as a leading supplier of oil and gas to India”. Trump also revealed a potential F-35 deal with India among other things.
