Self-immolation bid by Meerapur AAP candidate after cancelation of nomination

  • A video of Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Meerapur - Jogendra Singh Bankura has now gone viral. High drama unfolded outside the office of Muzaffarnagar District Magistrate on January 24, when the angry AAP candidate tried to immolate himself with kerosene after his nomination papers were cancelled. The policemen at the spot tried to douse the situation by snatching the kerosene can from Jogendra. The AAP candidate alleged that he was given no reason as to why his papers were being cancelled and claimed that the collectorate was biased towards other BJP candidates. The administration on other hand clarified that Jogendra had left a few columns in his form black due to which his nomination was rejected. Soon after the incident, Jogendra was arrested and later released on bail. Watch how the drama unfolded.
