UCC Bill in Parliament? BJP Leader Specifies When Bill Will be Tabled; Opposition Says "Dog Whistle"

A bill on the Uniform Civil Code will reportedly be tabled in the Parliament in the upcoming Monsoon Session. The Monsoon Session of the Parliament will begin in the third week of July. According to reports, the Bill could be sent to the Parliamentary Standing Committee, which has called on the Law Commission and Law Ministry on July 3. The Standing Committee will hear arguments from all stakeholders. Meanwhile, a political faceoff has already begun on the Uniform Civil Code.
