President hails Modi govt for increased defence exports in first Budget speech

President Droupadi Murmu delivered her first Budget session address in the Parliament today. She heaped praises on the Narendra Modi government and highlighted how India was becoming self-reliant in defence. She noted that defence exports have risen six times as the result of new initiatives by the government. "I am proud that today, the first indigenous aircraft carrier in the form of INS Vikrant has also joined our Navy," President Murmu added. Watch her address here.
