‘Politics of convenience…’: Congress reacts to Jitin Prasada joining BJP

  • Former Union Minister Jitin Prasada joined BJP on Wednesday in the presence of Union Minister Piyush Goyal. Congress reacted to Jitin Prasada’s exit from the party and questioned his “ideological commitment”. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate said this is an example of “politics of convenience”. Prasada, while joining BJP, said that "if there was any political party in the country today that worked in an institutional way... if there was truly any national party in the country, then it was the Bharatiya Janata Party".
