Omicron spread: Mumbai cases spike 80% in 24 hrs

Mumbai on Wednesday recorded 2,510 new Covid infections in a single day. The tally is more than 80% of the daily cases recorded in Mumbai a day ago at 1,333. Maharashtra minister Aaditya Thackeray had warned Mumbai will soon cross the 2,000-mark in Covid cases. The Maharashtra govt has released a new set of detailed guidelines for New Year celebrations.
