NFTs have entered the world of gaming, causing a definite stir. What constitutes a game? How far do gamers' rights extend? The answers to such questions are changing. Around the world, gamers are forming guilds that are significantly altering how a game is played. Elsewhere, NFTs are allowing gamers to create value for themselves that extends beyond the game. For instance, a tool or asset acquired in-game as an NFT (an NFT is essentially a digital-only asset) can now be exchanged or lent to another player in exchange for cryptocurrency. Such NFTs retain their value outside the game too, and can be traded for a cryptocurrency on an external NFT exchange platform. As Indian companies ready to enter this evolving market, Dhruv Saxena, chief strategy officer of NFT and gaming company Fantico India, discusses the three trends he's most excited about in the world of gaming.
