China's Ladakh stunt: Soldiers try to stop Dalai Lama birthday fest, say reports

- In the latest provocation in Ladakh, Chinese soldiers and civilians reportedly tried to harass people celebrating the Dalai Lama's birthday. Videos have emerged which purportedly show Chinese nationals showing banners and flags to people near Kuyoul in Ladakh on July 6, when the Tibetan supreme spiritual leader turned 86. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken to Dalai Lama on the phone on the occasion. India gave refuge to the current Dalai Lama in 1959 after he fled Chinese invasion and persecution.
