Booze shortage to hit Delhi? Impact of Kejriwal govt’s liquor policy rollback

Published on Aug 01, 2022 11:32 AM IST

  • The AAP-led Delhi government decided to extend the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-22, one day after announcing its rollback. This amid fears that its move will cause a liquor shortage in the national capital. The Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP government has sought L-G's approval for its move. Under the old policy of the government, both government and private vends sold the liquor, which was changed to private only in the new policy. However, the government reverted to the old policy after protests by the Opposition (in Delhi) BJP in the national capital. The move of the government also came after L-G VK Saxena recommended a CBI probe into the alleged violations in the implementation of the policy. Watch this video for more details.
