Pakistan's newest and most expensive airport, the New Gwadar International Airport, remains eerily empty despite its completion in October 2024. Funded entirely by China at a cost of $240 million, the airport is part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), a multi-billion dollar initiative aimed at linking China's Xinjiang province to the Arabian Sea.
