COVID Omicron: Weekend curfew in Delhi as daily cases breach 5,000-mark

Coronavirus infections continue to rise in the national capital. The highly transmissible Omicron strain is behind Delhi's rising case tally, curbs have been tightened. Delhi has now imposed a weekend curfew, all govt officials (except those engaged in essential services) directed to work from home. The Delhi govt has ordered private offices to work at 50% strength. However, the Delhi Metro & buses will operate at full capacity; all commuters must wear masks. Delhi registered over 5,000 new COVID-19 cases today, with the positivity rate rising to 8.5%. Meanwhile, CM Arvind Kejriwal and former Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tewari have tested positive.
