- 11-year-old Rahul Sahu, who lived a nightmare for 104 hours, was rescued from an 80-feet deep borewell last night in Chhattisgarh. Around 500 personnel including army, NDRF and local police were a part of the operation since Rahul fell into the borewell on Friday while playing in the backyard of his residence in Pihrid village of Malkharoda development block. Officials say that he was stuck in the borewell with a snake and a frog. Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel hailed the bravery of the boy and was in constant touch via video calls with the rescue team. A pipeline was installed for oxygen supply while Rahul was stuck inside. A 70-feet pit parallel to the borewell was dug up on Friday evening, while a 15-feet tunnel was constructed to connect the pit with the borewell. Watch this video for more details.
