“I won’t be excited to be a part of shows that go on and on. I have always maintained that I won’t do anything that is a typical daily show, which just doesn’t seem to end,” says Khandelwal.

The 39-year-old, who tasted success after playing a romantic boss in the daily show Kahiin To Hoga a decade ago, says Indian TV should adopt the fast-paced, season format that’s popular in the West. “I hope that seasons work in our TV industry. That’s a format that is eluding Indian TV. I’d be excited to work in that format,” he says.

Ask him about doing a reality show, and he’s averse to the idea. “Due respect to people who do it but I don’t think I’ll be comfortable doing it,” says the actor, who has also worked in Bollywood and has done films like Aamir (2008) and Soundtrack (2011).
