No spoilers, just theories: Where is Game of Thrones headed?

Traditionally, the eighth and ninth episodes of Game of Thrones have always been the best, and the one telecast on June 1 on HBO Defined in the current season stayed true to convention. This one, called Hardhome, even let out a few clues to what we could expect in the last two episodes of the season, and even the series in general.

Here is a scene-by-scene break up of Monday's episode and what it was trying to get at.

Tyrion meeting Daenerys

Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) in a still from Game of Thrones.

The silver-tongued dwarf was able to make his way into Daenerys's advisory council with ease. Of course Ser Jorah had to take a hard bite, but to be honest, by now you'd have stopped feeling sorry for him.

But if you've scoffed at the ridiculous theory floating around in the virtual world that Tyrion, Daenerys and Jon could actually be siblings, and Targaryens, it is perhaps time to eat your own words. Tyrion meeting Dany, and Jon needing Dany's dragons, is reason enough to look closely at this triangle.

The theory says that all three have the same father and they are 'born of blood' (their mothers died while giving birth to them). Jon is actually the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark (R+L=J) while Tyrion is the son of Rhaegar and Tywin Lannister's wife.

Now you know why Tywin kept harping on how he is not his son but public shaming kept him from revealing the truth? Dany's parentage is where it gets tricky. For this theory to hold true, Dany has to be the result of an incestuous relationship between Rhaegar, her brother and her mother. But then, as we know, incest isn't rare here.

And, the Targaryen sigil also bears a three-headed dragon. Perhaps we are groping at whatever we can.

However, according to this theory, the series might end at these three coming together at the end to rule Westros. The queen with her two brothers at her side.

Cersei ends the season?

Lena Headey (Cersei Lannister) in a still from Game of Thrones.

Cersei's comeuppance might just be the best form of justice we have seen in a long time in the show and is perhaps the note the series will end on.

Remember the long-winded discussion on Lena Headey's (Cersei Lannister) first nude scene on the show last year which was filmed at a church with a large number of crew members? At that time we'd wondered that if they have to be so hush-hush about it, why did they hire so many people?

But now we think we know the reason. The season might end with her being paraded around the city or at the church, naked, for all her crimes (regicide, incest, fornication and what not) by the people of the Faith. If this does happen, it would be a big deal. However, there is also Dr Frankenstein: We don't yet know what he's cooking under that sheet (our guess is that it is the Mountain, a bigger, weirder version of him). His experiment might just be what saves Cersei from execution. What she does with the Sparrows then, will be something to watch out for.

Arya or Lana or 'the girl'

Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) in a still from Game of Thrones.

At the beginning of the season, it seemed like Arya would be the one to bring the series to a close. But now we are wondering what she could do against the White Walkers. The scenes where she is being trained are usually where we sometimes pick up our phones to check texts. The most we expect from Arya is that she might kill Cersei or a few secondary characters at best.

Winter is here

A White Walker in a still from Game of Thrones.

It was the best of scenes, it was the worst of scenes. The massacre by White Walkers of the Wildlings was one of the most epic and also the most frustrating. Weren't you on the edge of your seat, wanting to run into the hut and get those idiots some dragon glass? Seriously, Jon just told you guys that it will kill the Walkers.

Anyway, we got to know that Valyrian steel works against the Walkers, but what good will a few swords be? Remember that the Oathkeeper is still with Brienne; so at least she is safe and we have no clue as to where Widow's Wail is. Perhaps with Tommen.

Coming back to what we said earlier, Jon could really use Daenerys's dragons right now. Except they don't listen to Dany either. Drogon is roaming about, having a good time while the other two get more frustrated by the second, chained and caged in the dungeons.

Still, this is the way we see the series ending. J+T+D.
